    App is unusable if you are from the US. Be prepared for hours of frustration and eventually being blocked / suspended for no reason. Customer service is non existent. I’m not sure why this app is even available outside of Asia.

    as others have also mentioned, I’m locked out of my account and can’t sign up for another one with my US number, Apple account, OR Gmail. I lost access to my old account, which had important contacts on it. LINE is unreliable for important communication, WhatsApp is less bad than Line

    Ok so I used to use this all the time until my old phone broke then I tried to get into my old acc from my new phone and you need ur old device to transfer data and whatever, which makes no sense because first screen gives u options for If u can’t access ur old device but then the last screen for the transfer only lets you do it if u have the old device which doesn’t make sense. And I also can’t make a new acc only with apple which was I used before like whoever made this was slow

  • Inexcusably archaic backup architecture

    Every other messaging app figured out how to move your chats to a new phone years ago, but LINE is still stuck in 2010. Transferring to a new phone completely wrecked my account. Because standard phone verification is a mess for US numbers, I was forced into the "Easy Transfer QR code." What they don't make obvious is that the QR code only copies the last 14 days directly. For the rest, it relies on whatever random cloud backup you have. Turns out, LINE’s background auto-backup had silently failed years ago without a single warning. Instead of flagging that the backup was years out of date, LINE just restored an ancient snapshot and instantly nuked the database on my old phone. Years of chat history, shared memories, and conversations were vaporized in seconds, with zero warning and no way to get them back. It is mind-blowing that an app this massive still uses software architecture so fragile that it wipes your local data without asking. If you actually care about keeping your chat history maybe consider another app.

    I can’t sign in because I don’t have my old device. Nor can I creates new account because phone number not allowed in USA, and my apple account is already assigned to the account it won't let me sign in to. Major fail!

  • Ridiculous restrictions on login from new phone

    I use Sign in with Apple. I got a new iPhone. I did not restore an iPhone backup. Now I cannot log back into my account, even though I am on the same iCloud account and the same Log in with Apple as before.
