Brother iPrint&Scan is a free app that enables you to print from and scan to your iOS device (iPhone / iPod touch / iPad). Use your local wireless network to connect your iOS device to your Brother printer or all-in-one. Some new advanced functions have been added (edit, fax send, fax preview, copy preview, machine status). For a list of supported models, please visit your local Brother website.     I have had the machine for a little over a year. Rarely use when I finally needed to scan something. There is no app for my desktop so I downloaded this app. It is trash on iPhones. So far, I have used it twice and it scanned successfully. But now it keeps timing out before it can download a scan.

    It seems like it hasn’t been updated in years, it’s not integrating with the IOS software whatsoever and it makes what should be a simple printing process extremely complicated to the point I just gave up and did it on my computer. It’s 2024 there’s no reason this app should still be this clunky and bad

    The app requires two apps to work and even together I’m still unable to print a simple meme. I’m not expecting much but I just bought this printer last night and it’s an enormous hassle to use and is not compatible with the iPhone with these apps. I’d avoid buying a brother printer and will likely be returning this printer. Part of owning something is that is reasonable to use and not a nightmare to print something simple. Avoid!!!

    This connects online and almost always my ink will suddenly show that the cartridges are low or empty…. Even when almost half full. But even with out that nefarious aspect, the fact that it tries to control you in that they make it a constant struggle and irritation to just use the machine. The machine that you own. That you shouldn’t have to be tethered to this company forever. If you want to use a different ink, even though it’s none of their f’ing business, they make the machine turn against you. Sometimes it’s working fine… other times it’s acting like it should have a say as to what you do in your home with YOUR MACHINE. The company said they sell their machines cheaply but expect ink sales to make it worth while. I hope that congress steps in like they did with Apple and the right to repair. We need laws preventing intrusive controlling software on any device we buy . Also, this app is the bare minimum that they could provide their customers / mainly pushing ink - the formatting and printing options are sub par. Especially coming from a company that makes printers. This app hasn’t gotten better over the years either. You can only upload 1 image per printing- why better to use up paper and ink!!! Why not?! The ink prices are another slap in the face of anyone who has one of these machines. They are price gouging to the extreme.

    Why not hire a competent app development team to fix this app and get it working smoothly? Isn’t it worth the investment to avoid customer frustration and irritation? Ugh. I’ll never buy another Brother device! 😡

    I’ve had this printer and app for years. All of a sudden it decides not to work or allow me to connect with my iPhone. Not a happy camper at all. If it’s no good for use - I’m forced to buy another printer - not a brother. At first it was 4-5 star now - below 1. I can’t afford to buy another - being forced to - you can be assured it won’t be a “brother” product.
