The customer service is ridiculous and often times super rude. They continue to screw people over on money. Drive for ANY other service because Uber is BY FAR the worst one to work for.

  • Shoddy location pairing and Unethical business practices

My biggest beef with the app is that it hardly works when you have it set to pick up rides going towards a specific location. I constantly have to deny rides going in the opposite direction. Even worse, when you’re in the middle of a ride and get paired with another rider it doesn’t show where the next rider is going, just their location. When you have location pairing turned on, it should be safe to assume that rider is going in the direction you want to go, not 10-30 miles in the opposite direction. This is all while it is turned on. I have also found that the feature will just outright turned off on me, I guess doesn’t matter much if it’s not going to work well anyway. Now onto the unethical policies… It is absolutely insane that in order to be compensated for a cancelled ride you would have to wait 7 minutes for the rider. Particularly when the ride was setup by a partner organization, not the actual rider, and the supposed rider was several hours away, with no intention of actually riding. The policy is a joke. A driver should have to wait 3-5 minutes, at most, before being able to cancel a ride. Especially if the supposed rider is in another state. The inflexibility of Uber’s “support” reps and their inability to actually read and respond appropriately to an issue was reprehensible. Using prewritten scripts that are close to the topic at hand isn’t customer support. I guess I really shouldn’t expect much else from an international corporation that is heavily funded by one of the world’s worst violators of human rights, right in the midst of late stage capitalism, and with no effective governing body to hold them accountable. I’ve switched to the Lyft app. They at least have local reps that you can interact with.
  • Need to pay drivers more and customers need to stop blaming drivers for stuff that’s not our fault!

First of all, this app is going downhill fast, when I first started it was easy to make $20-$30 an hour now I’m lucky if I make $50 a day. They keep taking from drivers selfish greedy people

After using this app for two years I had a 4.99 star rating with over 100+ drives. I received a notice that I needed to update my vehicle insurance card. When I did it it instantly deactivated my account claiming I had committed document fraud. I made multiple attempts to talk to agents to correct the situation and despite photographic evidence that I committed no fraud they just keep repeating the same cookie cutter scripts. So I permanently lose this app as an income stream. I do not recommend this app. It's a waste of time to build up good stats and reputation for them to take it away for no reason.

I’m pretty close to taking my phone and flinging it into the nearest river. It’s nothing but a constant barrage of offers in another state, 40 miles away from my area, and offers I’ve already declined thrice. The “Trip Radar” is nothing more than a distraction while I’m driving. It’s miserable to have this app on on a Saturday. And then every successive update, they add more unnecessary screens, like they all sit around bored wondering how they can mess the app up today. I don’t need a separate screen to pick a message to send to the customer. I can read and write English. I don’t need a notification to read “Leave at Door” to me. I’m sick to death of trying to read the GPS on an active delivery and almost crashing the car because you won’t leave me alone for a few minutes. The app is maddening and I’m barely making any money, considering I have to sit here with it in my hand for 13 hours a day to extract two or three good offers.
  • Working for Uber just horrible…..

Drivers are nothing , i guess because theres so many drivers , that “ oh well “ one driver does not matter …. Customers can do anything they want , say anything they want , and get you in trouble. The Pay is horrible , the amount of driving hours just to make decent amount to survive.. This whole cancelation and acceptance rate terrible , is like you obligated to take every single trip , cant cancel 2 trips that it goes through the roof. The trip information doesn't really give much information , why does anyone have to be obligated to drive to another state ? If i don't want to cross states for any given reason , driver shouldn't be punish for it ! Just cancel the ride , yea and then have the cancelation rate go through the roof and loose all benefits 👍 Overall just another company who can care less about the ones doing the actual work. - Driver Support yea ok , a support from a foreign country who have no idea what they talking about or even care , why cant uber sincerely spend some of the Billions it makes and hire old drivers as driver support instead who actually know …. Nope , just some random folks who want to solve every issue with “ Install and Uninstall the app “ - How about , driving 15 minutes to pick up a person thats only moving 3 minutes , or driving to pick some one up 20 minutes out just for the person to be drunk and cancel it saying “ they dint remember ordering a uber “ here driver $3 for you 💀… i just drove 20 minutes really ? - How about we as a company dont tell you where you going , just drive blindly to anywhere a customer wants …. How about we make you drive 1 hr in to New York and only pay you for the tolls on the way there but you the driver yea pay the tolls on the way back , NY theres a toll in every corner …. - How about paying drivers that drive in dangerous cities because i dont know , maybe they in more danger or maybe those drivers that drive overnight ? No , why would we as a company due such thing , instead lets say the customer is always right and F the driver …. His replaceable… -

I decline almost all the $3 orders and $4 orders, you have to hope people tip you well so you get paid more than $3 to $4. I only do Uber in big cities where most people always seem to tip alot. I am between jobs and no one is offering me a job for months now so my parents pay for my gas while I do Uber. Sad world we live in anymore where you can’t even get a job to live your life, mountain is looking more and more tempting than human society nowadays.

Will not take food orders after trying and when I get package delivery from from food trucks they are very greasy and I’m warned to get out of my car and try to secure it on my floorboard of which I don’t have rubber mats. I’m delivering food instead of a package and if I decline I will hurt my diamond rating… it’s hard to accept every ride especially food and 17 to 20 minute pickups for a 5 dollar ride picking up real people
  • Calculation of Acceptance Rate - Not Balanced

    1
    By Jeshua Gilchrist
Hello, I’m sending this note as a continuous improvement opportunity. I was a Diamond Driver for the past year or so and just recently dropped to a Blue, because my acceptance rate was 84%. Since May 1st I’ve been monitoring my acceptance rate by capturing the percentage at the start of day and also the rides for that day. May 1st my Acceptance % was 84%, with 168 rides accepted and 32 rides declined. Today, May 4th, I’ve accepted a total of 17 rides but my total accepted is now showing 167 total and declined 33, with an acceptance rate of 83.5%. Can you please help me make since of that? If I decline a ride, it instantly changed the declined amount and the acceptance percentage goes down. If I accept a ride, it doesn’t add to the accepted total and the acceptance rate remains the same. There is no balance to that. There should be movement with every ride, rather accepted or declined, real time. Thank you for your time and sorry for the rating, but at this time, I feel it is the correct rating for the Uber Driver App. Take care and talk soon.
