    1) No Wi-Fi support. Need I say more? 2) Slow and unreliable calibration with narrow limits. If your phone is slightly outside the calibrated Zane it won’t work. Well, I don’t always carry my phone in the exact same pocket so it’s the exact same distance from the lock. 3) Poorly conceived guest passes and schedules. I have people that periodically need guest entry, but I don’t want them to have endless access. Well guess what, it’s either endless access, or you need to delete and re-add them each time. How about giving us the option to keep an invited user but to revoke access in-between long-term visits? Until these issues are upgraded, this is an average product at best.

Inconsistent. Most of the time have to swipe away to completely close and reopen app to let it work. Wish it worked with Apple Watch

The Kevo smart locks Gen 1/2 The idea behind a lot is sound but the technology legs. Set up an installation are pretty much straightforward and the ability to re-key locks is simple and. However, quickset Kevo locks require a third piece of equipment for network activity called the Kevo hub. I have several of these locks over the past few years, and while the locks themselves are generally stable and function as designed the Kevo hub is another thing on a different level, and where I have encountered most problems. When the system comes together and works as it should, it’s a beautiful thing however, the keyword net sentence is when. The Kevo hub often have connectivity issues, regardless of proximity to the network, and in many instances doing a firm upgrade to these, as specified by Kevo support department, does nothing to fix the ability of the lock to function better or improve it accuracy, in fact, in most cases, doing a firmware or software update to the hub wonders useless I have gone through three of these hubs. The hub I had that very exact situation happen with the locks. One day just stopped functioning over the network using the lock locally works fine however, trying to remotely locker unlocked lock review it status or access. The lock fails when the hub goes off-line or stop communicating back-and-forth with both Kevo Smart technology and your home work. The Kevo hub had after doing insulation, which of itself was a small task of engineering. The Kevo itself continually kept dropping the installation files right before it was finished and an update could take place. It would simply hang stop and restart. This becomes extremely frustrating on the very first Kevo I ever had. I spent seven hours an entire day going back-and-forth, trying to get it to update and work. Finally I gave up and purchased the second hub which worked for about a year or so until the firmware update was released, the firmware itself did not take correctly onto the hub and rendered it a brick leave me to purchase my hub. It also worked for a couple months without any problems, and then one day just stopped however, the third hub did take a successful formal update, relatively easily, but never did work right after in fact, it would locate the lock for a moment, secure the lock and then stop responding. This is where I find myself at today.. In today’s Smart technology driven economy there are several different units on the market that are available however, for me just like most homeowners, I try to keep my equipment, all the same and matching for ease of operation, upgrading accountability and diagnosing trouble when it happens like doubt I would ever purchase another kevo smart lock or smart hub because of all the issues I’ve had. My primary concern and issue that I’ve had overall is that quickset and Schlag are pretty much the two major manufacturers in whole block set ups and have been for years. Schlag also produces and manufactures a quickset type style, but does not require a hub. Instead, the lock itself conform directly to the Wi-Fi network. It works much much more easier. But price becomes an issue when you’re dealing with the smart locks as they can get expensive quickly. While both locks on my house present, today are both made by quickset and have the smart key technology. Neither of them are Wi-Fi capable after dealing with three hubs and spending several hundred dollars. I finally just went and simply purchased a push button lock. We can program a simple code, enter that code, and unlock or locked the device while I missed the functionality and the ability of being able to remotely lock the lock my home, especially especially for vendors deliveries or other family members. It just simply became too much of a hassle to get the hub to work correctly.

Slow, glitchy, and connection issues. Sometimes it says the door is locked when it’s not. Fails to connect about half the time. Also, really…this app only works on Bluetooth? So annoying. Why not connected to WiFi like everything else these days? SMH. Battery status changes all the time. Sometimes it’s higher and sometimes it’s lower. This lock came with our house when we bought it. Would never buy one. Waste of time and money.
  • Be nice if it worked.

Replaced the batteries and the lock stopped responding. Deleted the lock and tried pairing again but not the app doesn’t recognize it. Why would this happen with battery replacement?
