Description

EGK MutiaraLRT Map is a cutting-edge mobile application designed to revolutionize travel across Penang with the upcoming Mutiara Line LRT. As Penang gears up for this transformative 29.5 km elevated system connecting the island's south to Georgetown and the mainland, our app provides the tools you need to navigate it seamlessly from day one. Inspired by proven transit apps like Singapore's SMRT, EGK MutiaraLRT Map features a robust route finder using BFS to compute efficient paths across the 21 stations. Input any origin and destination—say, Penang International Airport to Komtar—and get step-by-step directions, including branch handling at Macallum for the Komtar or Penang Sentral routes. Estimated durations account for 2 minutes per station and 5 minutes for transfers, with a random variance for realism, mirroring the projected 45-49 minute end-to-end journeys. The interactive map, built in SwiftUI, visualizes the cyan-colored Mutiara Line using normalized geographic coordinates for accurate plotting. Stations like Silicon Island (A01), SPICE (S08), Sungai Nibong (S10), and the interchange at Macallum (S19) are marked with circles (white for transfers), connected by bold lines. Users can scroll, zoom, and see highlighted black routes for selected paths, offering a clear overview of the alignment from PSR-A through industrial zones, airports, and urban hubs to Penang Sentral. Location integration via CoreLocation pinpoints your position and surfaces the nearest five stations, ideal for tourists arriving at the airport or locals near Bukit Jambul. This feature enhances last-mile connectivity, aligning with the LRT's Park & Ride facilities and TOD plans. The station database is comprehensive, covering the full alignment: Silicon Island to Permatang Damar Laut, Penang International Airport, Sungai Tiram, South Free Industrial Zone, Free Industrial Zone, Jalan Tengah, SPICE, Bukit Jambul, Sungai Nibong, Sungai Dua, Batu Uban, Jalan Universiti, Gelugor, Penang Waterfront, East Jelutong, Sungai Pinang, Bandar Sri Pinang, Macallum, Komtar, and the branch to Penang Sentral. Each entry includes name, coordinates, next/previous, and transfers for precise navigation. The UI is user-friendly: A vibrant gradient background, simple search fields, "Find Route" and "Clear" buttons, and a results scrollview listing routes with cyan icons. No-route messages guide corrections, ensuring frustration-free use. As construction starts in 2025 with operations by 2031, EGK MutiaraLRT Map positions you ahead—plan commutes, explore tourism boosts, or support economic growth via enhanced connectivity. Eco-friendly and inclusive, it promotes sustainable travel on this fully electric system. Download EGK MutiaraLRT Map today and embrace Penang's connected tomorrow!
