Metal Detector is an app that will become indispensable in finding metal objects nearby: lost keys, coins, wires in walls, etc. The app detects metal objects by measuring the magnetic field level as it gets closer or farther from magnetic metals (e.g, iron, nickel, steel and alloys). A magnetic field is measured with the magnetic sensor built into your smartphone. Please note that the app will not detect silver, gold and copper coins since they have no magnetic field.     This app came in absolutely clutch. I ended up buying a handheld metal detector as well and with the combination of the two I was able to map out the rebar grid in a foundation. Drilled right in to find the rebar I was looking for. This app at times was more accurate than the handheld (the handheld had a little more penetration). It (the app) was able to sense rebar 5 inches back in concrete. I downloaded 3 or 4 other metal detector apps and without a doubt this one provided the most help and best performance! This one seemed to pick up copper better than the others as well for whatever reason.
