I have paid for 3 games now at $6.99 a piece and the inventory plus is blank. I am not able to get past the 2nd room in 4 games so far

I have downloaded this game 3 separate times on 2 different devices and I can NEVER get past the office in the beginning! I cut the glass and take the remote and it show that it goes down in my inventory list but the circle is blank. I try clicking on the plus sign to see if it will pop up but nothing happens. The storyline seems great and I really want to play it but I guess that won’t be happening 😖

Every time I attempt to get the remote, the box comes up empty. I can get the trowel, I have the battery, but an empty box appears when I try to get the remote!! Cannot believe I paid for this “game” that doesn’t work!

Although I love this sub-genre (crime), and the graphics were excellent and the gameplay lengthy, I found that this game was devoid of any innovative elements whatsoever. Even inventory usage was not creative, using knives, shovels and screwdrivers time and again. The quality assurance was better than it has been in previous games, but there was still a lack of touchscreen sensitivity which made it difficult to acquire inventory items, as well as apply them, and to manipulate certain puzzles. Overall, I found this game a bit dull. It wasn’t a bad game; it just did not excite me. So my true rating will be 3.5 stars. Happy gaming, everyone!

I am happy to see another release in this series, as psychological thrillers are my favorite theme in this genre of gaming. What I love about this series is the true-to-life storyline and the omission of supernatural attributes. As a detective, you would probably welcome the opportunity to be assigned to a new case; it’s good for your reputation, esteem, etc. But you would never expect that an art-obsessed serial killer specifically requests your assignment to his case. Wow! What an honor!—or not, as you soon find out. This well-paced, absorbing storyline stimulates my imagination and stays interesting as it delves deeper into the criminal mind of a psychopath. The intriguing build-up of suspense—through the menacing taunts of the killer, in the form of threatening phone calls and letters—keeps me in a state of trepidation. The characters seem compelling enough to avoid insipidity. Urban city locations compose most of the settings, evincing a realistic ambiance. However, at times, the overwhelming purplish coloration of the background adds a mystical edge that feels out of place. Gameplay is mostly commonplace all around. The adventure portion offers recycled task lists—“find the items and use them right away”—without any uniqueness to elevate the gameplay. The majority of the HOSs do not shed much light on innovative qualities; however, they are still varied and entertaining. One standout is the one in which you are presented with a list of words, which exclude one letter per each word; and you find those items by opening/closing various drawers of a filing cabinet. The puzzles are thematic and suit the storyline; but I didn’t detect any distinctness or “wow factor,” which is surprising since I normally love this developer’s puzzles. The developer fixed the touch-sensitivity issue plaguing their other games, so my progression was fluid and seamless. In my opinion, the storyline is the most admirable element of the game. The main supporting component, more specifically the gameplay, is lackluster, creativity-wise, compared to some of their other games. Overall, though, I enjoyed the game enough to warrant a four-star rating.

Although not my favorite series, this deserves a top rating. The touch issue has improved, and I especially enjoyed the variety of puzzles and HOGs, especially the one where the objects were hidden on computer files. Good job!
