Your battery will love this. • Private Wipr prevents countless trackers from invading your privacy. Wipr itself cannot, nor wants to, know what you do on the web. • Fast By using a new technology called Content Blocking Extensions, Wipr can do its job without slowing down Safari at all. • Up-to-date Wipr's blocklist is updated twice a week to keep up with the ever-changing web. • Honest No one can pay to unblock ads. There are no "acceptable ads". Wipr only answers to you. • Global Wipr will use an enhanced blocklist for Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese speakers. • Smart You can set up Wipr in seconds, and it will update automatically in the background to block future annoyances. There is no configuration. This app was built with love and patience. I hope you'll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed designing and building it. No longer works with YouTube. Switched to AdGuard which works perfectly. Too late to get a refund for Wipr.

I've gone through several adblockers in the past two years, including some that cost more than Wipr. Usually what happens is that they work well for a while, then the trackers update their methods and the adblocker doesn't. Wipr isn't like that. It doesn't block everything all of the time, but it blocks a lot, and the updates often succeed at keeping up the arms race. I do wish there was a way to report unblocked ads/add unwanted scripts manually for additional blocking.

Wipr has always been my go to because it isn't resource heavy and doesn't slow things down. However, it is no longer block those annoying pop up ads at the bottom of the screen.
  • Doesn't work well anymore (Install AdGuard instead)

Wipr used to be the king of adblockers for safari on iOS and MacOS. I used Wipr for many years, and it was always one of the first extensions I would install. Due to issues I've described below, I've had to install the AdGuard adblocker; which resolved all the current issues of ads and pop-ups I've been experiencing with Wipr. Over the last 4-5 weeks, I have been experiencing both ads and pop-ups on both the iOS and MacOS version of Wipr on multiple websites including on youtube videos played on the videos section on google search, the streaming site bflix, etc. Neither should have ads, let alone pop-ups in the first place. Everytime I stream a show or movie, I would get ads that I have to manually "x" out of. In addition, everytime I try selecting anything on the current webpage, a pop-up opens on a new tab, and I have to close it, every single time! Once the episode of the show or movie ends or whenever I want to select a new episode, the ads and invisible pop-up redirects come back, even though the page hasn't been refreshed or touched yet! I've already made sure I'm on the latest MacOS and iOS version. I've already tried reinstalling the app, and manually turning disabling wipr in the safari extensions settings and reenabling it to no avail.
  • Used to block Youtube ads, not any longer

Worked great for a year, blocked basically every ad. Now it no longer blocks youtube ads. Safari in general just seems like an inferior browser since chrome has uBlock origin which blocks LITERALLY every ad/tracker/etc. Just not worth the hassle of using safari anymore unfortunately after this extension stopped working. Waste of money currently.

This app works perfectly. I've tried a bunch of paid and free blockers and nothing beats this for just blocking ads. It's what I put on every of my Apple devices and those of my friends and family.

I have been using it for more than a year now, it has worked on most occasions and i really liked it, but recently because of new ad rules by Youtube, it has stopped working on Youtube and you cant play a video unless you disable Extra extention and then the video will load but with Ads unfrotunatley, hopefully it gets fixed soon, Thanks!
