I grew up in Alabama during the days of segregation. I remember all the years it took to fight for civil rights and that this rights are only secured if there are institutions in place to enforce them. The U.S. Justice Department Civil Rights Division and Department of Education Civil Rights Division come to mind. I am saddened over what I am seeing happening in our country. I was really naive to think when a black man with a Muslim sounding name was else elected president America had finally transformed. What a shock to witness what is going on now. But, having grew up in the south I shouldn’t be surprised. We’ll never be able to put this country back together.

This issue has not been fixed! If I subscribe to a channel it means I want to follow along online. It doesn't mean I want to receive everything in my inbox, which I never read! At this point I really hate to lose all the people I'm following but I'm going to have to change my email to a hide my email address and stop following everyone on Substack. All I wanted to do was subscribe to some Substack channels and be able to view them within the app. I don't mind notifications in the app as long as I can turn them off. What I do mind is every time I subscribe or sign up for someone's Substack, they insist on sending me email--and the app, even though it's supposed to have a way to suppress that, does not work. I'm going to unsubscribe to everything at this point.
