  • Best Tool for teaching kids how to read at an early age

I am so happy that I found this app. As a non-native English speaker, I was not sure if I could teach my four-year-old son to read. We started using the app, which we called the "reading game," almost every day. My son quickly picked up on reading and was very motivated to use it without me forcing him. It was a fun experience for both of us. I appreciate that, besides the screen reading experience, the app also offers printable games like Bingo and Siren Song. These games are not only fun but also encourage reading and provide an opportunity for family bonding. Additionally, my son has learned to color within the lines through color-by-words printables, which is another bonus skill. Definitely recommend to all parents whether your child attends the daycare/preschool or not. Great way to spend 15 minutes a day with your child and see his/her progress. It will make you both proud.

This app guides parents and their kids through a basic, but effective, phonics-based reading curriculum. It is not a game (although it does include some simple games for purposes of practice)—you and your kid both have to WORK to get through the lessons. That being said, I have found it very effective at teaching important reading skills like phonemic awareness, sound blending skills, sight words, etc. We have been taking it slow, because my daughter is still in preschool and she doesn’t always want to do the lessons (she knows it’s work, not play). But, having completed lesson 70 of 99, she is currently the best reader in her class of precious 5-year-olds. I recommend this app to everyone who wants to give their kids a head start on reading! The one downside: my daughter hated the alphabet song they make you play at the beginning of lessons and groaned every time it came on. Repetition is important for learning, but the kids with excellent memories may find it irritating. Luckily the app lets you skip it, which we did (although never fast enough to avoid the groan).

Absolutely awesome resource and tool that helped my kindergartner learn to read! I homeschool, so we got through it in three months! But I will say I have a super-motivated kid that really wanted to learn to read. And now, she can!! 😃

I’m so obsessed with this reading app it’s really game changer!!! Truly recommend this app for the kids who learn to read! It’s really helpful! My daughter went through all lessons, she love getting presents after she completed each lesson it’s motivating her to do next lesson! Books are really good and easy to read and understand. I love how they explaining each new sounds giving an examples of sounds and have a marks over the letters that helps to read correctly and easily for kiddos! We love this reading app!!! Thanks to the developers for such a wonderful reading app that really works!

There is no better reading app out there. My daughter is in Kindergarten and just finished the program. She understood the letter blending as explained and was engaged and excited to do the lessons. The books were cute and perfectly challenging. She loved completing the path. I love that the picture doesn't distract and she isn't guessing the words based on the picture. She actually knows them. I don't know any kids my daughters age that can read as well as she can after this program. This app is worth every penny!

The app is easy and simple enough to do with Landon. I am a parent with dyslexia. This app has made it easier to help him learn to read.

This app is the gold standard for technology for kids!! I had struggled with teaching my 5 year old to read. She had picked up letters and sounds early, but got so frustrated when I tried to teach reading using books like “Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons” or methods I saw from YouTube and TikTok videos. The reading.com app completely changed the game for us. It is tactile (using her finger to move with the letters), well designed (like books that use only letters she’s learned so far, plus beautiful kid-friendly art), intuitive, and FUN! Most impressively, it includes the verbal prompts for ME to read to her, and even gives encouragement and support to remind me that a slow pace is okay so the experience can remain fun for her and not too high-pressure. It also helped her unlearn some of the incorrect letter sounds I had taught her (oops). By the end of the 7-day trial, she understood how to blend letters for the first time. Now after 6 weeks, we are on lesson 41. She willingly does about 5 lessons a week, and she can now read the books in each lesson on her own, including 7 letter words and sentences with as many as 9 words. It’s one of the only apps I’ve ever paid money for and I have ZERO regrets! My almost 3-year old also is starting to pick up letters, sounds, and the very catchy alphabet song just by exposure. Thank you so much for unlocking reading for us and making such a wonderful and thoughtful app!!
