  • Good Info, Inspirational, but sometimes

I started Reframe about five weeks ago. It offers real science and social science research as well as medical information. I find the information relevant and applicable. However, I joined as “sober curious” so I’ve not quit alcohol, but cutting back. So, Reframe’s positive feedback to a user still drinking isn't necessarily aligned with drinking, rather it is encouraging the user to keep completing Reframe’s daily tasks. I guess that positive feedback with no judgement is working because I do keep coming back every day. Plus, no reason to lie to myself or the app about still drinking, because there’s no judgement. Meanwhile, it does help you track how much you are drinking, when, where, and WHY! That’s the most important: the WHY. Now that I’ve used Reframe everyday—multiple times a day for certain tools and resources I’m discovering how much content Reframe. My buddies achievement so far, and it’s big for me, is mindfulness and letting go of self-shaming. I think that change, with the daily help from the Reframe app, will get me to where I truly want to be: conscious, controlled minimal drinker. Meaning, I want to allow myself to enjoy a holiday or congratulatory drink on occasion rather than a reactive drinker seeking to numb myself through stress and distress. My new morning routine is using Reframe the first 15-20 mins over a cup of coffee to frame my day with useful physical and mental information along with a self-inventory and some inspiration or encouragement to (re-)focus my attention to self-regulating through mindfulness (pause, assess, journal, meditate, stretch…simple things that grow in effectiveness the more you do them). And, I appreciate the nudges to complete the tasks. I am very grateful for this thoughtful, well designed app.

Since I dated the Reframe app. It has helped me change my relationship with alcohol. I never was a heavy drinker but when the pandemic hit I fell into a bad habit of having one or two in the middle of the day then it grew into many drinks. Reframe has given me tools and an understanding of how alcohol affects people and I knew I wanted to get control of my drinking once again. The different approaches help me build new habits and the forums helps me not feel alone. I’m glad I found it and am working on me.

I have a (fully updated) iPhone 14. I downloaded the newest version of the app 3.6.10 I had issues from day 1. The app couldn’t proceed to next step after I recorded my 0 drink intake of the first day. I contacted support, and all they could say was; - Please update the app (mind you, I got the newest version) - Try and turn off and on you phone - Restart the app I didn’t get actual real help from support.

Empty, Empty, Empty!!!! if you want family support, don't waste your time on this application. Your family member who is addicted or using will get hours and hours and hours of support and they advertise one hour week for loved ones, but that loved ones our is just about letting a loved one complain about you the person who is addicted. They provide nothing of support to you as the family member of someone who is addicted or abusing alcohol. They provide nothing the meeting that they portray as supposedly to Help! loved ones is just about your loved ones complaining about you the person who is addicted. Don't let your family member waste their time or you waste your time

I’ve been using this app for a month now and already noticed better sleep and mood quality within the first two weeks. It isn’t magic. It takes work but the short daily articles and journaling and friendly non-judgmental reminders help tremendously. Whether you’re cutting back or quitting drinking, it is a great tool to give a shot. Do the month trial for $5 if you’re hesitant like I was. It helps so much with approaching your habit from a different perspective. There’s so much mental work that goes into changing habits and this reminds you that you can always switch your approach and always evolve and better yourself with healthy alternatives and healthy mindset. The accountability is a huge factor. Checking in with every drink you might have really sets the tone with a mind and body connection. There is no blindly grabbing a drink and not thinking about it. It makes you evaluate if you really want or need that drink. Seeing how much money and empty calories you save on a daily basis really puts things into perspective. The little tips and insights help a lot and I’ve even used them to help loved ones going thorough hard times of their own. It isn’t about just drinking. It’s about learning healthy behaviors and unlearning old habits and that’s something everyone can take advantage of; not just people looking to quit or cut back on drinking.
