  • I was so excited

Was very excited to have a solid replacement for MINT. Enjoyed using it for months. Well the honeymoon is over, one of my main bank accounts is syncing but is missing various transactions (recent issue started last month). Making it utterly useless to me. AI support system is not useful. I would absolutely let it slide and wait for a fix even if it took months from mint since the app didn’t cost a thing. Monarch on the other hand is a paid service.

No issues using this app. Canceled Copilot and switched here. Way better, way more stable, great team, reliable developers

Overall a good budgeting app. My only request is that you can split a single transaction between multiple categories. An example would be that I bought fuel cleaner, a protein shake, and nicotine in one transaction. I would like to be able to put each in their respective categories instead of having to put them in miscellaneous.
  • Disappointed former Mint user

I was another person that came from Mint, and I’m honestly so disappointed with how Monarch is working for me. First of all, all the transactions that I imported into Monarch from Mint duplicated randomly. I went in and manually fixed things for the past three months, but the rest of the data (4 years of data btw) is completely useless. Now, my bank accounts have stopped automatically syncing and nothing is working to get them up to date. It was suggested that I delete and re-add the accounts, but I don’t feel like going through and deleting thousands of duplicate transactions yet again. I’m honestly regretting paying for the year long membership. I could’ve just set $100 on fire and I would have less stress in my life. Currently mourning Mint 😞 Don’t waste your money on this.

I love this app so much! I’m retired and trying hard to spend what my financial advisor says I should spend every year so I don’t end up like a lot of people sitting around worrying about money and dying with money coming out of everywhere. But of course not running out either. I think it is designed first for young people trying to stay out of debt. But it works well for me too. Banks and financial companies can’t seem to get it together like this. With all these decades since we’ve had home computers it’s crazy they still can’t or won’t do this for us. Thanks Monarch. I hope you have a profitable business model. We need you.

In theory this app is wonderful and I would say nicer than Mint! If you do not have many accounts and your primary bank is a big one, you might have more success with this. I bank at a local credit union, have four retirement accounts, four savings accounts, several cards, and two loans. I paid for this app in order to NOT have to log into each one for a status on the regular. After a couple weeks, each account dropped, requiring me to log back in to each one. My credit union changed their interface and I could not log back in through Monarch after days and hours of trying every method. Monarch’s solution? Manually enter the account and transactions. I can do that in an excel sheet for free. If I wanted to do that, I’d not have paid for Monarch. I think this is a neat tool and you should try it and if it works for you, I’m super jealous!

Better than Mint ever was! Takes some time to get all your accounts set up and working but after that it’s a breeze! Love ability to know what new transactions that need review, car included in net worth and that they are actively investing in the app to make it better!
