  • Good content terrible app

    I have both Crunchyroll and Hidive, this app (and the one on my tv) have the absolute worst user interface I have ever come across. If you want to watch a show and have it auto play the next episode, then every time you get off the app you have to do a search, find the show in the series folder, and then restart there. If you just hit “continue watching” the at the end of the episode you’re back to the main menu. About 40% of the time I open the app to find “no content available” I’ve tried logging out, uninstalling the app and reinstalling, checking for updates, making sure my phone is up to date. Basically the only reason I have this app is Hidive puts content on here that they don’t offer on Amazon. But I have to have the Amazon subscription as well otherwise most of the time I wouldn’t be able to watch anything on this service. So to recap, the app is absolute trash, but the content is great.

    The interface is subpar at best. You have to look at your watch history just to find the next episode. There’s no way to just play the next episode on the list. You can’t skip intros or outros. Trying to find something to watch is like looking for something you’ve lost, you know it’s there but can’t find it. When using the tv app, you have to click through so many windows just to find your watch queues. But then again combined with having to look up your watch history you have to basically try to remember what episode you’ve last watched before you go to the queue… this needs to be fixed.

    The HIDIVE service is fine. But, the app is horrible. - doesn’t remember where you left off in a video - Home Screen doesn’t remember accurately what you watched - search feature doesn’t use the default apple keyboards that support auto dictation - search by unchangeable default is set to return episodes, seasons, and series all simultaneously rather than just series’ and requires you to filter the results - the app incorrectly tags episodes already on the platform as coming soon or new - doesn’t give recommendations based on preferences - can’t access your own watchlist on the app if you made one in web browser version
  • Top tier content with dumpster tier UI and audio

    Great content library with a moderate price tag. Unfortunately this is overshadowed by the absolutely trash UI (including searching, playback, and a bunch of other minor things) The audio provided through the app is also too compressed and you can clearly hear it. I’d honestly be fine tossing them a little more money for a better app. Too bad I’ll be canceling after this sub.

    Downloaded the app to try it out with the “free trial”, and they attempted to charge me a month after 4 days. Deleted the subscription and the app. Dishonesty and greed doesn’t make for happy customers.

  • App Won’t Load Content At All

    The application gives the error message “Content Not Available” and when I go to the 3 bars in the top left, and click “log out” (even though this is the first start of the application) and the app reloaded and gave the same error. I confirmed internet connection, and I am on version 2.27.1(229)

    I hate that every time i try to watch sum i gotta type out the show, if you watch it from continue watching you cant continue to the next episode
