    Free, easy to use, and simple. Its perfect for helping me meet my daily protein goals, as well as making sure i dont eat too much junk. I use this app all the time, recommend to a friend.

    I really like how i can track the micronutrients too and the app is really easy to use. One thing i would suggest is on the smaller square widget is to make an option where you can see the grams of each macro instead of the calories
  • Very accurate, easy to scan food — needs an offline mode

    The app is great, but I wish it had an offline mode, and loaded faster. Sometimes when you open it and internet is poor it just doesn’t load…. so you can’t see your current macro mix. Also it needs to cache the latest status so it just loads fast.

    Pros- seem to have a lot of foods in their libraries, semi- customizable Cons- the most recent update made it so you HAVE to choose a weight goal. If you are tracking to get to a certain body fat percentage, this means anytime you're at the "goal weight" (but not bf%) it kicks you out of a deficit. Many of the foods also only have g or oz, which makes it difficult if you are trying to track when you eat out/ eat food prepared for you by someone else. The app also only works when you have wifi or cell service 3+ bars. And if you retroactively track days because you were out of cell reception, it does not count towards your streak. There's also no way to "duplicate" recipes you create, so if you make a recipe and change one ingredient the second time (I.e. using chicken vs pork), you have to recreate the entire recipe.

    Cronometer lacks (or hides) the ability to edit custom recipes. I am a new user of the free version. Input the basics of a custom recipe (because app didn’t know what the restaurant omelet recipe was that I ordered). Then (after my meal) I needed to go back into the app and add additional ingredients to my custom recipe. There’s no apparent way to do that. I just can’t give this app the hours that it requires to figure out how to do things like this. The output is great; the input is problematic.

    This app is beneficial, but for those of us that eat many foods that are not processed or packaged, it’s not worth the effort to try to create the item in the app. For this reason, there is no way to keep an accurate log of what it’s intended to

    The UI is a little more clunky than MyFitnessPal, but I’m here for the free calorie tracker and the barcode scanner. They work spectacular! I would give it 5 stars if it were easier to search for raw ingredients. Searching for “broccoli” results in a list of bagged broccoli instead of fresh. Very happy with this app. The ads are non-intrusive and the free features are enough for me!
